2011 Result: 5th

In 2010 Phil Zwijsen won thanks to a blunt fakie on the wall. In 2011 norwegian Gard did the same trick within each of his runs. That wasn't enough to win but his bag of tricks pulled him to the 5th position. Not bad!

2011 Result: 39th

Young Ivan was unknown to us before this 4th edition of Far'n High. But as the qualifying began, we understood he was easy with the park. Specially when he performed a backside crail over the big channel. Unfortunately, we don't have any picture of this trick. So, if anyone has one, please let us know. At this moment, that's the best trick ever done on this spot. We'll keep an eye on him for the next edition.

2011 Result: 69th

Ricardo came in 2011 with other riders of the SevenPly Skateshop from Rotterdam. He was there as a team manager, but not only: He also showed the strength of his pop during the ollie contest. He got first with Nicolas Eustache with a 1.04m ollie. He didn't succeed in qualifying but smashed our minds this summer with a nice Sugar magazine cover.

2011 Result: 3rd

The tuesday before Far'n High, we were dealing with huge beer tanks when Maksim arrived. He was just coming from the Berlin contest. We were a bit surprised to see him so early. So he had smooth sessions with the kids during three days, slept at home and told us what was going on for skateboarding in Russia.

He is a nice and cool guy but turns into "Mad Max" (dixit Dave Duncan) when he gets on his board. Just have a look to this russian magazine cover to get sure of it.

In a logical way he ranked 3rd of the contest and 1st in the heart of the local girls!

Far'n High Retrospective 2011: Kilian Zehnder

2011 Result: 47th

Sven Kilchenmann was the first to talk to me about young Kilian. That's also Sven who invited him to Far'n High. They were both at the same hotel as the other riders. When we came to pick them up on the saturday morning, there was a big problem going on. An old chap was unhappy Kilian woke his ugly slut up at 11am riding on the parking lot. So the guy took KIlian's board. Kilian didn't know what to do... In spite of the guy's attitude, the hotel manager took the board back one hour after. In other conditions, Kilian would have certainly succeeded in qualifyings.

Far'n High Retrospective 2011: Tomas Stejskal

2011 Result: 55th

In 2010 edition, Martin Pek made several of his friends come with him to Far'n High. That's how we met Tomas. Our first impression was he could be The new rookie. Tomas didn't reach the finals in 2010. He didn't in 2011 either. We wondered the guy was shy or not comfortable enough for contests. But, by mid-july, for the Mystic Cup in Praha, Tomas is at home, he shreds all the weekend long and ranks 3rd (first european).

If shyness seemed to be his problem, well he seemed have found a cure for it. We'll keep an eye on him for the 2012 edition.

Far'n High Retrospective 2011: Sven Kilchnmann

2011 Result: 10th

Just arrived from Zurich, Sven wanted to shred the small pavement bank near the local train station. One bad slam after, he comes to the contest registration with all the left side of his face bleeding... "No worries, I came for the contest. I'm gonna do it!" he said and then he qualified. The day after, during the finals, he didn't perform the perfect run, but at the last second of his last run, he arrived switchstance in front of the big rail and stopped at the last moment. He wonders to himself if he can do it... And after another pushing, he landed first try a perfect switch backside tailslide...

Neither a bad slam nor pressure would have stop him to get the job done!
